Educate for Life
About Educate for Life
Founded by 2 UK teenagers in 2007, EFL ensures the provision of education, healthcare and community development services in under-served rural communities in Bakhel, Rajasthan. The WIA has also supported the charity’s programmes to improve maternal and infant healthcare. Recent data suggests that there has been a significant reduction in the under-five mortality rate in Bakhel from 150/1000 live births to 80/1000 live births which can be attributed to Educate for Life’s Safe Motherhood Programme (since 2014) and changes in the way community members choose to access healthcare. all of which are overseen by Dr Akshay Patel, a paediatrician and one of Educate for Life’s co-founders
